The 1-arm Dumbbell Row is an excellent exercise for developing the upper back muscles, especially in the area around each scapula (shoulder blade).

Muscles Targeted: The primary muscles used for 1-arm dumbbell rows are the Latissimus Dorsi (lats) & the Posterior (rear) Deltoids.Like most exercises for the back, however, there are many muscles involved to some extent. Secondary muscles involved are the Rhomboids, the Trapezius & the Biceps.

Equipment needed: A sturdy, flat bench and a dumbbell of the appropriate weight for your ability.
